Privacy Policy

Holy Urdu Bible (www.urdubible.com.pk) is a free online Bible reading ministry. This policy explains exactly what information we collect about you, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

When you create an account, we store the following in a secure database:

• Your name — so we can greet you and keep a record of who has joined this ministry.
• Your email address — to sign you in and send occasional ministry updates.
• Your password — only ever stored hashed through Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your actual password.
• Phone / WhatsApp number — so we can reach you in case of a forgotten password or urgent account issue. We do not send marketing messages by phone.
• City and country — helps us understand where the Urdu-reading Church is growing.
• How you described yourself when joining (Believer, Pastor, Student, etc.) and your preferred language.
• Your reading progress — the last book and chapter you opened, so we can bring you back to it on any device.
• Your reading preferences — font size, font family, and theme (light / dark), so the site remembers how you like to read.

We do not collect payment information, precise location, contacts, photos, or anything else about your device or browser beyond standard server access logs.

• To operate the reading experience — showing you the right chapters and remembering where you left off.
• To authenticate you securely when you sign in, via Google's Firebase Authentication service.
• To send you occasional email updates about new features, reading plans, daily-verse highlights, and ministry news. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
• To understand — in aggregate — how the site is being used, so we can improve it. For example, counting how many people joined this month.

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, a managed database offered by Google / Firebase. The database is hosted in the Mumbai region (asia-south1) to give Pakistani readers the fastest possible experience. Access is protected by Firebase security rules — your personal doc can only be read or written by you (when signed in) or by an authorized administrator.

All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.

We only share data with:

• Google / Firebase — the infrastructure that runs our authentication and database.
• Our email provider (for sending updates — e.g. SendGrid, Mailchimp, or Brevo). Your email address and name are shared only to deliver the messages you have consented to.
• Law enforcement — only if required by a valid legal order, and only the minimum information required.

• View or edit your data anytime from your profile page.
• Unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of any email. You will still be able to sign in and read.
• Delete your account — email info [at] urdubible [dot] com [dot] pk from the email address on your account and we will fully delete your data within 30 days.

This site is suitable for readers of all ages. If you are under 13 (or the minimum age for online services in your country), please use the site with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

We use one essential cookie named __session — a secure, HTTP-only cookie that keeps you signed in so you do not need to log in on every page. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics.

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the “last updated” date above and — for significant changes — email you a short summary.
